Parks in Chicago for a Chill Out Session

After a long day of traveling all around the city and going around and visiting all those Chicago landmarks, at the end of the day, we are pretty sure you will be looking for some down time together with your friends, family and loved ones. There are many places in Chicago that can provide you with that much-needed respite and here are a couple of them, nicely put together into categories.

Parks in Chicago

Garfield Park

100 N Central Park Ave., Chicago, IL
(312) 746-5092
The great thing about Garfield park is that it is centrally located and easy to find. It features approximately 200 acres of space and a special Golden Dome field house. The locals make full use of its boxing center, football field, fishing spot, gymnasium, auditorium, meeting center, swimming pool, tennis courts, cycling paths, playgrounds, a beautiful garden and much, much more. You don’t have to be a part of all that action if you don’t want to. Many of our Chicago bus rental customers come to Garfield park just to do some people-watching. That can be extremely calming and put things into perspective, especially if you have had a long, busy day.

Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum

Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum is located at 2430 N Cannon Drive, in between Fullerton Avenue and Lake Shore Drive West in Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Our conclusion, after visiting the museum is this - people get tired of shopping downtown when they are surrounded by concrete jungle all the time. This is a fact, not a myth, nor is it a marketing ploy to get people to visit more parks and nature-themed tourist attractions. Whether you are visiting Chicago in a rented charter bus or driving around on your own or perhaps you think moving around using the very reliable public transportation, one thing you will notice is this....Chicago is a bustling city and one can get tired of being surrounded by so much buzz. The solution to this burnout syndrome is really hit one of those so-called ‘nature-themed’ places, of course.

One such place that is absolutely noteworthy is a Chicago bus rental tourist attraction located just a stone’s throw away from downtown Chicago...Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. People call it a museum, some call it a garden....let me tell you this....I call it haven. It’s heaven for kids, but it is a haven for those who are kids at heart.

The Chicago Academy of Sciences was founded way back in 1857 which was started and managed by curious scientists and curious nature-lovers. They lived to dig into what earth had to offer and whatever they found, they shared passionately in the museum. It had its humble beginnings, of course, with little funds and support but it slowly developed its reputation and started collecting more specimen over the years and it was more than decade or so after that that their work gained momentum and their passion and discovery was recognized. Today the academy have a stronger standing as a national and international leader for conservation and its amazing collection of citizen science. The difference between the academy and other bus rental Chicago museums is that the works that were done by the team directly benefit the public and is locally-related. Hence, it makes perfect sense to visit the museum during your travels if you want to see what is really relevant to Chicago locals.

On the lower level, you will have the nature’s haven in Chicago....a really distant world...away from the hustle and bustle of the city. And upstairs, there will be the butterfly room which is so serene and calming. We came forward looking for an event venue for a bus rental Chicago gathering and wedding reception and we can tell you that we absolutely fell head over heels in love with the museum.

For those of you who are not coming in with your own Chicago charter bus, parking is free on the streets outside, otherwise, if you opt for paid parking, it is kind of expensive but safer in a lot of ways. If you are looking for a Chicago charter bus rental packages, please feel free to get in touch with us. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Spa Space

When you have worked really hard and your body is literally “crying out” for a good whole body massage, this can only mean that it is time for you to call up Spa Space for a pampering session already. It would be fun to also invite your friends to join you for your next spa treatment appointment at Spa Space. If you are concerned about whom among you and your friends should be the designated driver for the spa treatment, you don’t have to throw lots among yourselves to decide – why not just arrange to rent a Chicago bus to send everyone there?

Just like other spas, at Spa Space, you will need to call them up to make an appointment for the day that you and your friends would like to go for your pampering session. While they do not encourage last minute booking, if you are really “dying” for a spa treatment, you could always try your luck and see if you would be able to get them to give you an appointment, but we would say that you should not get your hopes too high. It is still better to call them at least a couple of days ahead for a spa treatment appointment. You would not want to show up at the entrance of Spa Space without an appointment only to be turned away because they are already packed for that day, would you? Also, do note that the place is open every day, but they are closed on major holidays. They do have different opening hours though – on Sundays and Tuesdays, they are open from 11am to 5pm, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, they are open from 10am to 8pm, while on Fridays and Saturdays, they are open from 9am to 7pm and 9am to 6pm respectively.

Depending on whether you decide to go for a pampering session at the Spa Space with your friends or alone, there are different types of packages that are available for you to choose. From a basic spa package, to a more “glamorous” treatment, you are quite spoilt with choices when it comes to deciding which treatment to take on. If you have the whole day to spend at the spa, it would be good to take one that would give you the most benefit. With the service of a professional bus company, the issue of driving would not be an issue at all. All you need to get ready for is to be pampered with the services provided at Spa Space.

But, do make it a point to rent a Chicago bus to Kingston Mines at 2548 N. Halsted Ave., Chicago for your night of fun listening to the blues, as you sip your chilled beer.

At the Kingston Mines, they have two stages and two bands that takes turn playing live every night of the week, so you and your friends can always go there any time to get your fill of the blues whenever you like in a rented Chicago bus. For many who have been to Kingston Mines, they always have so much good things to say about this blues bar. They have a full bar and bar food that are considered to be very good. And if you are above 21 years of age with a student ID, you get to go in the bar free of charge. They also have special guest performances from time to time, so you can be sure that each time you go and visit Kingston Mines, you are in for a surprise or two. Not only will you be able to enjoy the music that is being played throughout the whole night, but if you enjoy people watching, you will get to see many different types of people walking in to enjoy themselves at this bar. They also have a dance floor, so if you feel like dancing the night away, feel free to do so. Just don’t be too shocked when you look at your watch to check the time, only to find that time flew you by and you would now have to hop on your rented Chicago bus to head home. The Bean at Millennium Park

Mention Cloud Gate in Millennium Park and many may not know, but if we were to tell you “The Bean” in Chicago, and you may just know what we are talking about, even though you may not have been to the place there yourself. And if it is true that you have not been to The Bean, then you should really make a date to do so. Bring along your wife or your husband, your kids, your friends, your co-workers, your neighbours – well, you know what we mean, so why not plan a day’s bus rental Chicago weekend trip and come visit this really unique and interesting place that many have been talking about.

Popularly or fondly known as “The Bean” by the people of Chicago, you will find that it is located right in the middle of the Millennium Park. If you have already made plans to rent a Chicago bus to check out The Bean, there should be no worries about locating it or finding a place to park your car. You will definitely not miss The Bean – it is a place where there is always a crowd and whenever there is a crowd, it can only mean one thing – it is a place not to be missed!

One other thing that you must never forget when you are visiting The Bean – make sure you bring your camera! This will be a wonderful opportunity and time where you can put your shutterbug skills to the test. There will be so much fun exploring the “funny” faces that you can make because of the concave reflective surfaces of The Bean. If you didn’t already know, Cloud Gate (the official name for The Bean) is the work of British artist, Anish Kapoor and this is his first ever public outdoor work installed in U.S. It is made of seamless series of highly polished stainless steel plates, reflecting the beautiful skyline of Chicago as you cruise past in the rented Chicago bus rental vehicle and the clouds in the sky – making it one of the biggest sculptures of its kind in the world – with a whopping size of sixty six feet in length and thirty three feet in height!

After a fun day of exploring The Bean with Bus Rental Chicago, you and your group may feel a little hungry, so hop back on to your rented bus and if you feel adventurous, then put your faith in your bus driver in bringing you for some good food nearby The Bean.
